The Idea Of Place
My most helpful warm-up was the color swatches.
The place in my painting was a picture that I took during thanksgiving when I was in Virginia and I had to walk an 1h 30 to go see that waterfall. What is important about that place is that it was during thanksgiving and it was a really good moment to be with my family and enjoying outside.
What I found most challenging about this picture is the waterfall that took a really long time and I had to make it again multiple times to make it look at least decent.
What I think is the most successful thing about my painting is the waterfall because it took me a long time to do it and I think it looks pretty good.
The process:
I started by painting the water then when I did that I colored everything the right color before actually starting doing details. I started my detail on the waterfall then I did the rocks. After the rocks I started doing the trees on the top right. After that I just did the rocks on the bottom left to finish it.
